New Dining Room!

When Matt and I first got married, we purchased a high gathering table for our dining room.  It has served its purpose, but we are ready for a table that will be suitable for Thanksgiving dinners and little ones.  I was looking to create an elegant dining space with a wood table and white chairs - something timeless.

Our dining room before

Our new dining room table, spotted by my friend Lauren who has an amazing eye for detail.  Only $263.00 for this amazing table which included a leaf for those family gatherings!

I found these chairs at the same consignment shop a few days after I bought the dining table above!  For 6 chairs AND this table it was only $192.00!
I fell in love with the curves of these chairs and the beautiful cane backing.  I think with a fresh coat of ivory paint and new fabric for the seat cushions, these chairs will be amazing!

Grasscloth Wallpaper

Okay, this is my dream dining room!  Love the chairs and the wainscoting, but its the wallpaper that I think makes the room.

Love it!

What an amazing table!  Totally set off by that amazing wallpaper! haha

Okay now I really want some grasscloth wallpaper in my house!

Quilting

I fell in love with quilting when I was making a baby quilt for my best friend's new baby girl.  It can seem very daunting at first, but it is actually a lot easier than you would think, and all you need is a sewing machine, fabric, and thread!

There are tons of free templates online, but my favorites to start with are the jelly roll quilts.  They come together fairly quickly and make beautiful designs.

Right now I am working on a scrap quilt.  It is being made from two dresses that my husband bought me when we were dating that don't fit anymore...Couldn't bear to part with them, so they will become a beautiful baby quilt.

More to come on how I am creating this quilt for no money!  :)

Table Centerpiece

I love the look of a wood dining room table with a beautiful centerpiece of white flowers.  My favorite are hydrangeas!  I was at a consignment store this past weekend and picked up these slightly hideous ceramic vases - but I think with a little paint they will be fabulous - and the perfect shape to hold a round bouquet of freshly cut hydrangeas.  Best part - they were only $13 for the pair!
